One Year Full Time Post Graduate Program in Management The Program The postgraduate program in Business Management at Great Lakes Institute of Management is intended to prepare the students to understand the key interactions among the functional areas of a business system, appreciate the need to have a cross-functional perspective to analyzing issues in business systems and apply key concepts in addressing these issues to arrive at meaningful solutions. The program is designed to prepare the student to respond to the complex business decisions that arise in modern changing environment. This eight-term program encompasses a set of core courses in Strategy, Marketing, Finance & Accounting, Entrepreneurial Economics, Organization Behavior, Operations and Quantitative Decisions . The program is designed to meet the emerging trend for acquiring management skills among the students irrespective of the undergraduate specialization and therefore the program is structured to cater to a wide variety of undergraduate degrees. Students without appropriate business coursework or substantial relevant business experience will be required to complete additional coursework in quantitative methods, economics and business psychology. The proposed program focuses on Marketing, Finance and Control, Production, Systems and Information Technology and Entrepreneurial Management including Family Business. These specializations are offered in the form of Streams, each stream consisting of a set of courses, which the students have to choose starting fifth term. Admission Requirements Great Lakes believes that to fulfill its vision of producing entrepreneurial managers the applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized institution and a work experience of 2 years is highly desirable. Outstanding graduates with less than two years of experience would be considered on a case to case basis. All applicants are required to appear for GMAT/CAT before applying to Great Lakes Institute of Management. Applicants for admission are evaluated based on GMAT/CAT (2005 & 2006) score, past academic performance, essays and letters of recommendation, and performance in the interview and group discussion.
