15 Weeks Advanced Masters Program in
Management of Globally Distributed Work
April 15, 2007 - December 20, 2008

Recent waves of globalisation have created new markets and business opportunities that few could visualize earlier. These, however, come with challenges and risks even fewer managers are familiar with. Companies today have to prove that they are, and will continue to remain, globally competitive if they are to be able to carry their clients, investors and talented high performing employees with them into the future.
This, in essence, translates into the ability of managers to have a global mindset, address global markets, and manage globally distributed human resources and global financial contexts. These have to be achieved even while following basic principles which underpin a company's vision and strategy that need to be interpreted in differing settings globally.

The Target Market

The Advanced Masters Program in Management of Globally Distributed Work (AMPM) is an advanced management education program for executives, who as a part of their job, need to develop markets, sources, and manage business units around the globe. The program is also for professionals who are being groomed to transition from technical and delivery positions to managerial, business-consultancy, and customer-facing positions in different regions of the world. The prospective student of the program is typically a professional or an MNC executive who is being prepared for senior levels in a company with existing or planned global operations and strategies, and who may be assigned to handle worldwide operations at headquarters or at locations in Europe, North America, and Asia.

it is expected that executive students for this program will be primarily from major Indian and Asian software and technology houses and divisions of multi-nationals located in India and China. The recruitment will include company-sponsored as well as open admissions.

Global Delivery

A unique feature of the program is its delivery over four sites spanning South Asia, Europe, North America, and East Asia. The program will be delivered through a consortium of leading business schools from Asia, Europe and North America. The consortium members are: -

  • Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, India.

  • RSM, Erasmus University, The Netherlands.

  • UCLA, Centre for Management in the Information Economy, Anderson School of Business, Los Angeles, USA.

  • Faculty of Business, City University of Hong Kong at Hong Kong/Suzhou, China.
