One-year Post Graduate Programme in Management

Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad is launching a one-year Post Graduate Programme (equivalent to MBA) for domestic and international executives with substantial work experience. While the Institute will leverage its enviable experience of designing and running Asia-Pacific’s most coveted two-year postgraduate programme (PGP) in management, the new one-year, full time, residential programme will be substantially different in design, orientation, and delivery. It will admit bright, enthusiastic, and aspirational executives with leadership potential from different countriesand prepare them for top management roles in the global arena.

Focus

The programme will have a general management focus, with emphasis on managing across borders and cultures. The participants will spend a term on an international project. The programme design will take into account the varied work experience the executives bring along.

Launch

The first programme begins in April 2006; the admission process starts in June 2005. Selected candidates will get about six months between the confirmation of admission and the joining date. This should help them plan their move to Ahmedabad.

Eligibility

Executives who have a bachelor’s degree and seven years of experience may apply. Corporate sponsorship is not essential. The selection is through a rigorous admissions process that includes personal interviews (either face to face or via videoconference).

Placement

Placement services will be available to non-sponsored participants.

Education Loans

Several major banks have shown interest in advancing education loans to those admitted to this programme.

Infrastructure

World class infrastructure is available on the Institute campus. Accommodation will be available on the campus for both single and married participants.
