IIM Lucknow E-summit 2011 "Entrepreneurship: The rising tide in uncertain times"

IIM Lucknow is to host the “Entrepreneurship Summit-2011” from November 25-27, 2011. The Entrepreneurship summit is the flagship event of the entrepreneurship cell of IIM Lucknow, conducted annually.

This year the event would be spread over three days and the theme is “Entrepreneurship: The rising tide in uncertain times”. The theme is chosen to emulate the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in the present global economic scenario and the emphasis would be on importance of innovation and invention for businesses to deliver during economic uncertainty.


Eminent personalities like Mr Kunwar Sachdev (Founder & CEO, Su-Kam Power Solutions), Mr Suneet Singh Tuli (CEO, Datawind), Dr Anil Rajvanshi (Director, Nimbkar Agricultural Research Institute (NARI) ) and Mr Anil Joshi (VP, Mumbai Angels Venture Capital) would be a part of this summit. The summit would bring together budding entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, SME owners, students, reputed academicians and distinguished guests.


The summit will include events like:
• “NIRVAAN” – the annual B-Plan competition having two categories Samridhi (general), including social b-plans and Srijan (technology), focusing on b-plans based on technology and innovation.
• India SME Conclave 2011 – In an endeavour to address the challenges faced by the MSME sector in India, IIM Lucknow in association with IIA is organising this conclave. The theme is Growth Strategies for MSME’s and it aims at giving insights to Indian MSME on developing strategies for sustainable enhanced growth.


Around 150+ delegates ((CXO level people & business owners) have already confirmed attendance.
• Manthan – Start up workshop
• Mulyankan - Valuation of a Start-Up
• Bizness- a game designed to test the business strategy and sustainability of the students and some alluring On-spot competitions.
• Margdarshan – a unique event where IIM Lucknow alumni who are successfully running their own ventures would be sharing their experiences with the students.


The Entrepreneurship summit provides a platform for students to not only present their ideas but also to seek guidance and mentoring from successful industrial veterans. It provides them with a unique opportunity to showcase their ideas in front of the like-minded people, the platform which helps them discuss the feasibility of their ideas and also obtain funding of their ventures. The summit also enables the students to interact with SME’s and have as understanding of real life scenarios of the strategies followed and problems faced by the SME’s to sustain their businesses.
