The Consulting and Entrepreneurship Club (CEC) of Indian Institute of Management Raipur conducted the first meeting of its startup community "Aakash" on 1st September, 2013. This community provides a common platform for current and future entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and investors across India to network with each other, share each others’ experiences and forge new partnerships.
Prof. Rajeev Roy, Chairman, Placement and Career Development Cell, IIM Raipur gave an energizing start to the meet with his inspirational words to the entrepreneurs and gathered students. He stressed that free flow of ideas under one roof can create wonders for budding and potential entrepreneurs. The meeting saw twelve entrepreneurs from various sectors such as education, ecommerce, handicrafts, agri-business food and beverage and hospitality. There was an uninhibited flow of entrepreneurial ideas and experiences of the entrepreneurs. They highlighted the basic ideas behind their ventures, the relentlessness to pursue their goal and the learning from the obstacles faced by them.
This was followed by a high tea session where the entrepreneurs and students freely interacted over snacks. Some of the entrepreneurs met their potential customers as well as business partners during the session.
Entrepreneurs addressing the gathering
CEC club of IIM Raipur plans to make Aakash, a key tool to encourage entrepreneurship across central India.
