IIM Shillong, NSE partners to launch 2 year full-time PGP in Financial Markets

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Indian Institute of Management, Shillong (IIMS) entered a partnership to start first ever two-year full-time post-graduate programme in financial markets (PGP-FM), offered by an IIM..


The initiative is a welcome move by the government to develop infrastructure and create job prospects for employable populace in the North East region.


IIM Shillong Director, Prof Ashoke k Dutta, said in a statement, The collaboration will go a long way towards capacity building and creating expertise in areas in which the demand exceeds supply. This will help accelerate the development of the financial sector and the growth of our economy.


The programme is aimed at grooming trading and investment skills of students and working professionals to make them job ready.


The duo also launched other advanced level certifications and Management Development Programmes in financial markets.


The PGP-FM course curriculum will involve general management subjects and highly specialized subjects in finance markets. Finance subjects like financial valuation and modeling, equity research, technical analysis, derivatives trading strategies and financial engineering will be a key area of study for the students of this programme.
