They say it rightly - The best way to make your dreams come true is to wake up.
Hi I am Apaar Malik, a Final Semester MBA student at IMT Dubai.
I would like to take this wonderful opportunity to share my priceless experience at IMT-Dubai.
Coming with a technical background with an Engineering degree in Electronics and Telecommunication from University of Pune and having three years of work experience in the booming Telecom Industry of India I always knew I was more than just an engineer. I always aspired to be a decision maker in an organization to take it forward. I chose IMT-Dubai to do my MBA and pursue my dreams as it had the unmatched strength of world renowned faculty with a diverse experience in the industry. I feel I am blessed to be taught by such professors of high caliber and respect. The two years spent over here have been extremely eventful with no same day and lots of moments to cherish throughout my life. Be it India winning the cricket world cup or be it the semester end parties in the city or in the campus, I tell you we used to go bonkers.
I have made lots of crazy friends with lots of crazy times at IMT - Dubai. I will like to call it an experience which can be felt only when stayed on campus. IMT-Dubai offered me a true Global Exposure during the span of two years by providing me an opportunity to interact with the professors who have taught in one of the worlds most prestigious universities. Students from around the world come here for an exchange program which also gave me an exposure to foreign cultural diversities. Being a part of Internship and Placement committee it gave me an opportunity to connect with the external world of corporates. It has been a great learning experience coordinating for college activities. These activities have appropriately inculcated the leadership and management skills in me required for a corporate career.
I opted for International Banking and Finance as my specialization as numbers were my strength and analysis was something I wanted to leverage on. Getting placed in the right organization with the right profile was always on my mind from the very first day. After doing fairly well in academics in IMT I was given a wonderful opportunity at Midland Group, a well-known conglomerate in Africa. The profile offered was just perfect which any MBA student with a specialization in International Banking and Finance would dream of.
Looking back at the time spent here I wish I could relive the years spent here once again in my life but then again as I always feel - The best is yet to come.
