SPJIMR Alumnus & Brand Manager-Ice Cream at HUL, Rajiv Subramanian, addresses PGDM Students

Mr. Rajiv Subramanian, Brand Manager-Ice Cream at Hindustan Unilever Limited, addressed the PGDM participants in the event Get Addicted organized by the SMIA Committee.

He co-judged the event along with Dr. Somayajulu Garimella and Dr. Suranjan Das, both Professors at SPJIMR. The event was organized with the dual objective of providing a platform to the students to showcase their creativity in ad-making skills as well as giving them an opportunity to interact with Mr. Rajiv Subramanian, SPJIMR alumnus.


Mr. Rajiv Subramanian had joined SPJIMR in 2005 after working in a consulting organization Avalon Consulting. Post SPJIMR he worked in Marico and Heinz before joining HUL. With such diverse experience in a short span of time, his presence proved to be a great source of inspiration to the students. He spoke about his journey so far and the kind of experiences the industry has to offer for marketers. The talk offered by Dr. Garimella and Dr. Das along with Mr. Rajiv about what goes into making effective advertisements and the importance of targeting the right segment were very insightful for the students, especially those pursuing Marketing Management.


The event saw participation from the PGDM Batch and the PGPM Batch. The organizing committee, SMIA, is a part of the ADMAP (Assessment and Development of Managerial and Administrative Potential) program at SPJIMR and will be responsible for holding the SPJIMR Marketing Impact Awards in which the best marketing initiatives from the industry are recognized and awarded. Guided by the ADMAP Program which is like an experiential laboratory for the students to hone their leadership potential and administrative capabilities, the SMIA Committee endeavors to promote the brand SPJIMR among the Corporates and provide students exposure to the some of the best in the world of Marketing.
