WeSchool's Prayaas 2011 - An initiative to unleash India's women power

PRAYAAS-2011 is an initiative by Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research to take forward the dreams and aspirations of a group of women come together under an apt title ‘Kasturimrig ‘, guiding and mentoring them throughout the journey till their dreams translate into meaningful entrepreneurial ventures and take off.

WeSchool brings this group of women together under the concerted efforts of the experts from its pool of multi talented faculty to help them realize their aspirations.

These 60 odd women are at a station in life where they could focus their efforts, thoughts, time and resources to reach the zenith of self realization. They cherish the dreams of making life more fulfilling by engaging in productive entrepreneurial ventures, reaching the zenith of self actualization and in the process contribute to the society too.

The group can now devote attention to the causes they relished at an earlier point of time but were held back by the family commitments and responsibilities. Apart from its own multi-disciplinary faculty, WeSchool has roped in National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) for the workshop that will appropriately begin on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, at the Brainstorming Room, WeSchool campus at 10.00am. The Kasturimrig women will get the opportunity to learn and interact with not only faculty but eminent educationists, experts from diverse field during the workshop that will help them to create the roadmap to a successful business Venture.

Ms Sunita Ramnathkar, Director Michell Ltd, will be the Chief Guest at the inaugural function. Ms Ramnathkar a typical Mumbai housewife and mother, turned herself into a highly successful entrepreneur as she set up Fem Care Pharma Ltd., the manufacturer of the all-too-famous brand of bleaches(and hand washes and soaps) that revolutionized the Indian beauty industry. She nurtured it for 27 long years,turning it into a 100 Crore cosmetic giant . She now holds an equity stake in Mitchell Group U.S.A. through a subsidiary M/S Eudora Group Inc. in U.S.A. Mitchell Group is again a cosmetics distribution company, having its office in Miami, London and Switzerland; selling cosmetics made out of France, Lebanon and U.S.A. to markets in U.S.A.. Canada, U.K., Jamaica, and now to Africa.
