IIM Kozhikode certificate holder gets jail for allegedly forging wife's mark sheets

A shocking revelation lead to a man landing up in jail, after a tiff with wife, who exposed that he conned two major MNCs and also got admission in IIM Kozhikode for a short duration course..

Nandan, R, who was working as the senior manager with IBM was arrested on July 9 for allegedly forging his wifes Class XII and degree mark sheets to land up job at HP and IBM and for a short duration course at IIM Kozhikode.

According to the investigations, Nandan allegedly did the forging seven years ago. Having completed his high school from St Josephs School, Bangalore, Nandan failed to pass a diploma course in electronics and communications from Bangalores MEI Polytechnic. He was working for a small, private firm at the time of his marriage. He allegedly procured his wifes mark sheets to forge them with his own name.

Nandan allegedly used the certificates to get a job in Hewlett-Packard in the year 2005. In 2007, he used the certificates to enroll for a short course for professionals at IIM Kozhikode. After completing the course from one of the premiere institutes of management in India, Nandan headed the marketing team at Amicorp and later joined IBM as a senior manager in 2011, with an annual salary of Rs 24 lakh.

According to various news reports published by print media, Nandans wife, Latha, informed the police about the alleged forging after the couple had a heated argument. Reports revealed that Latha returned to her parental house where she surprisingly found her marks sheets superimposed with Nandans name. She immediately reported the matter to the police following which Nandan was arrested.

Police is carrying an investigation on how Nandan managed to get admission in IIM Kozhikode.

Following the incident, IIM Kozhikode has issued a press statement saying, Mr. Nandan, R during 2006-07, studied a one-year certificate programme called Executive Management Education Programme (eMEP) offered through Interactive Distance Learning mode by IIMK, meant exclusively for working executives. Pursuant to the media reports, IIMK suspends the certificate awarded to him until the final enquiry report by legal authorities concerned is available. IIMK would repeal the certificate awarded to him if he is proved of the forging of his documents.
