The Final Placement process for the PGP batch of 2010-12 began February 13 at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad. The cohort system of placements introduced in 2010 was followed and firms belonging to two cohorts – global strategy consulting and international investment banks were invited to campus in the first cluster on Monday.

The list of recruiters included regular partners such as Boston Consulting Group, McKinsey & Co., Bain & Co., AT Kearney, Credit Suisse, HSBC, Oliver Wyman and Accenture. Firms offered roles in their India offices as well as a few roles in international locations such as London and New York.

The Boston Consulting Group made the maximum number of offers this year and reinforced its faith in the talent pool at IIM Ahmedabad. The consulting firm has been a major recruiter at IIMA over the years. Ravi Srivastava, Partner and Director at the firm said, “BCG recruited 17 PGP students from IIM Ahmedabad this year. IIMA continues to be one of our core campuses for recruitment and we look forward to continue recruiting large numbers, in line with our rapid business growth”.

Recruiters appreciated the quality of students and the placement system followed at IIMA. Ackroyd Rodrigues, Campus Recruiting Coordinator for Credit Suisse said, “We found candidates to be extremely focussed, very well researched and the right fit for the role in our organization. The process was very well managed and we are happy with the scheduling system followed at IIMA. We stay committed to recruiting from IIMA, and will continue to invest in building a strong relationship with the campus”. The investment bank offered international roles to students.

The second cluster will be held on 17th February 2012. However, Cluster 3 and 4 will be held on 21st and 26th February 2012, respectively.
