IIM Ahmedabad final placements 2012 Cluster 3: Mahindra, RPG Group offered roles in general management

Cluster 3 of Final Placements 2012 at IIM Ahmedabad was held on the 20th and 21st of February. The recruitment process for this cluster began yesterday with group discussions, and students received offers following interviews today.

The third cluster included recruiters such as Mahindra and RPG Group who offered roles in general management. Dr. Arvind Agrawal, President Corporate Development and Human Resources at RPG Group said, We were very happy with the high caliber of students and we hired more students that we had initially intended. We opened up new positions in the company as and when we met suitable candidates. We were able to take immediate decisions as top management from across our businesses had flown down to IIMA for the recruitment process.

Ingersoll Rand offered two roles to students, general management and their Entrepreneur Creation Program. In the latter role, students will be placed on a fast track learning path through diverse rotations across multiple businesses, markets and functions within the company. At the end of two years, they will be provided seed capital to create their own businesses for Ingersoll Rand products and solutions. The firm made a total of 4 offers.

Wrigley, HT Media, Welspun were some of the firms that offered marketing roles to students. Sanjay Gopinath, Director (HR) at Wrigley said, We found that students were very focused and clear about their careers. We were impressed by the students and their multi faceted personalities. We feel that the curriculum and tough deadlines at IIM Ahmedabad have made students very good at multi tasking.

The financial services cohort featured recruiters such as RBI, Yes Bank, HDFC, Crisil and JM Financial. Yes Bank extended 5 offers to students.

The third cluster also featured recruiters from the information technology sector. HCL and Mindtree were the firms that participated in the placement process.

The fourth cluster is scheduled for February 26.
