SPJIMR PGPM Final Placements 2012: Cognizant, Genpact, Anthelio, KPMG recruited

The seventh batch of SPJIMRs PGPM Program saw extremely successful placements in 2011. With over 56 companies participating and 41 companies recruiting from domains such as Technology, BFSI, Telecom, Consulting, Digital Content & Power.

This year again one of the participant took to becoming an entrepreneur as against two of them in the earlier batch. There were two participants who have joined startup firms at senior positions and two international placements in Singapore.

The batch had around 80 participants with an average industry experience of 7 years and an average international experience of 1.7 years. The participants came from companies like Cognizant, L & T Ltd., Pangea3, Godrej Group, Tata, The Shipping Corporation of India, E & Y, NCR, Infosys, TCS, BNP Paribas, Credit Suisse, JP Morgan, RBS, Oracle, Alcatel-Lucent, Freescale, Accenture, Schneider and Motilal Oswal. The participants were engaged in various roles such as Technical Lead - QC, Client Engagement, Project Manager, Advisory Consultant Strategy & Transformation, Deputy Manager QA, Assistant Manager Facilities & Infrastructure, Senior Manager Supply Chain, Business Development Manager, Senior Associate and Transition Lead.

Various channels are created for the participants to interact with the industry. Apart from classroom training with in-house faculty, successful leaders & entrepreneurs regularly visit the campus to provide changing dynamics of the industry. Workshops are arranged at a regularly basis on specific topics & areas participants are interested in pursuing.

Industry Project Integrated Placements Initiative (IPIPI) is alternative way of engaging with the industry. The participant works on a project or assignment with a company to enhance learning. The company gets a prospect to evaluate them for placements over a longer period of time. All these interactions throughout the program lead to focused & successful placements.

The 1 year full-time MBA is designed to influence practice and promote value-based growth. The program is rigorous, challenging & intense. The unique aspect of the program is the specific focus on the role and domain that the participant is interested to pursue. The participants are involved in Beyond Classroom Learning to focus on skills and attitude aspects of character building. Alumni are invited to the campus to share their industry experience and advice the current batch.

Some of the recruiting companies this year were Anthelio, Cognizant, Genpact, Barclays, Headstrong, Hunt Partners, IBM, Infosys, Jyoti Structures, KPMG, McKinsey, NIIT, Prime Focus, PWC, Raymond, Sodexo, SPANCO, SYNTEL, Enzen, Valcon, TCS, Wipro Technologies and NCR.

Roles offered included Product Manager, AVP Re-engineering, Manager Strategy, Supply Chain Transformation Manager, Manufacturing Specialist, Senior Consultant, Client Partners, Business Analyst, Domain Consultant, Business Development Manager. The domains primarily included Consulting, BFSI, Technology, Power, and Energy & Environment.


The objective of the Program is to cater to lateral positions in the Industry at senior roles which was successfully met. The average outgoing salaries increased by about 63% over the average incoming salaries of the batch. The range of salary increase was from 30% to 145%. This is a true recognition of the 1 year program in the Industry more in terms of a need being met at lateral positions.
