SJMSOM, IIT, Bombay is looking forward to an Upbeat Placement Process

The class of 2010, SJMSOM, IIT Bombay looks forward to an upbeat hiring season. Pre placement Offers (PPOs) and Pre placement interviews (PPIs) have already been offered to more than 30% of the class, in advance of the Placement process, expected to begin at the end of the month.

These are mainly from companies in the consulting domain, FMCG sector, and also from foreign banks.

Though most of the offers this year have come from companies where the students had completed their summer internships, students have also received PPIs on winning a high profile competition by Reckitt Benckiser. SJMSOM has, in fact, put on a very good show on the B-school competition front, winning positions in over 40 competitions (both international and national) in the academic year.

On a related note, the process of hiring for summer internships at SJMSOM has also been completed. The entire class of 2011, consisting of 98 students, was snapped up within the process days. While most of the firms hiring were from consulting and FMCG domains, there were many recruitments for investment banking and Private Equity funds including Future Capital Holdings. Companies such as HSBC, JPMC, Capgemini, ITC, Marico, Johnson & Johnson, P&G , Colgate Palmolive, etc. participated in the process. In addition, firms from the Pharmaceutical and Insurance sectors entered the recruitment process for the first time.

    Concluded.
