Corporate Annual Quiz Competition Held at IMI Delhi

The inter corporate Annual Quiz Competition Quiz-Inc, held at the International Management Institute (IMI) Delhi on 7th August 2009, concluded with 6 teams out of a total of 127 teams from across the country reaching the final rounds for the prize money of Rs. 50,000/-. During the initial round, the teams became part of the Quizzing Event by participating online.

The six teams which reached the final rounds included Comfortably Dumb (INFOSYS Technologies Ltd.), R&D (Telegraph Kolkata), Tokamak (TCS-e-serve), I-Bank (ICICI Bank-NCR), BrainEYs-(Ernst & Young-NCR) & Tundey Nawab-Sanchetna Financial Services.

Quizzed by Quiz Master Mr. Llyod Saldhana they were chosen through an online quiz from across the country to compete and test their business acumen.

The Quiz Finale started off with the Quiz Master Mr. Saldhana asking each of the contestants what was unique about them. The answers varied from sleepwalking to bodybuilding. Once the initial introductions were done, the questions begun. Tokamak-TCS e-Serve (Mumbai) comprising of Sourabh Varshney (Vice President, Risk and Analytics Department) and Sourya Biswas (Manager, Risk and Analytics Department) managed to get an early lead. However BrainEYs - Ernst and Young comprising of Vishrut Mulay (Consultant) and Raghu Reddy (Consultant) managed to keep the competition neck-to-neck.

With each question the scores moved up and down with negatives acting as a sore point for all teams. The audio-visual round saw the score board swinging up and down.

Tokamak-TCS e-Serve and BrainEYs - Ernst and Young made for a nail-biting finish with Tokamak clinching the title in the end by a mere 5 point margin.

The audiences too were given their fair chance to win prizes by answering a few whacky questions. An example would be “What did the Americans emboss on their first coin? - "Mind your own business!" In the final interaction with Mr. Lloyd, almost all questions were answered and the crowd made their claim on chocolates and other prizes.

It was a great evening for all concerned as Mr. Saldhana managed to keep the teams on their toes at all times tempered with an element of fun. Great quality teams, an involved audience and a Grey cap quizzer – all came together to make Quiz. Inc 2009 a great success.

Concluded.
