Kalpataru 2005 @ IIFM Bhopal

Bhopal, February 5-11, 2005

Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal is organizing its annual management festival, "Kalpataru" - the annual intellectual and cultural festival, in the second week of February 2005 (February 5-11). The Kalpataru week signifies birthday greetings to IIFM and good luck to outgoing batch, all of whom will be entering new stage of their lives with marvelous placements already in hand.

The week is solemnized with cultural, sports and literary events, and the participation is right from staff to students to faculty and of course their families (but students). The air of the whole IIFM hillock sings a tune of celebration. Though no compromise is made in daily routine, the programs and events cry for spaces. The environment created by small but integrated IIFM family is something to experience and feel proud.

The Informal Events at Kalpataru are an opportunity for participants to let down their hair after a hard day's work and enjoy a few offbeat events such as Dumb Charades, Paper Dances, Ad Mad, Pentathlon Punch and Meet the Press and a number of quizzes and other fun events, including Debates, Songs, Dances, Skits, Special kids programs really leave no time for food or logs Z's or kips.. These events are very popular with the students and also attract large audiences. Various events of Sports including Badminton, Table tennis, Volleyball, Football, Cricket, Athletics, etc., are also there. The participation to all these events is so high that league matches are conducted and even in cultural events a semi-final becomes necessary. The very diverse background of students and faculty gives it a colorful look. For the GenY, the trendy youth band will pump up the moods and provide the beats. Enthusiasm and frenzy at various Informal events like Antakshari and Just a Minute shall mark evenings of celebration and jubilation.

As times change, this year is also bit different from previous years (its presence of our batch) and definitely Kalpataru is better jeweled this time especially due to fantastic placements of out going batch.

Open House is a brand new initiative taken up by the IIFM Family keeping in mind its social responsibility to highlight the talents of the city of its belonging. It is a fun-cum-learning gaming experience, which aims at bringing the student fraternity of Bhopal on the same platform where they can showcase their talents in varied literary events. Open House is not only about competing on the big stage but will also serve as a gate pass for the BIG EVENT - Kalpataru 'The Management Fest' (to be held in September 2005) for the victorious team.
