State Bank of Indore Institutes Research Chair at IIM Indore The State Bank of Indore has instituted a Chair in Banking and Finance at IIM Indore. The Chair will be known as "State Bank of Indore Chair in Banking and Finance". A MoU to this effect was today signed between Shri T. S. Bhattacharya, Managing Director, State Bank of Indore and Dr. S. P. Parashar, Director, IIM Indore. On the occasion of signing the MoU, Dr. Parashar stated that the institution of the State Bank of Indore Chair at IIM Indore is the finest form and evidence of industry and academia collaboration between these two great institutions and will go a long way in building research capabilities focused on one of the most dynamic sectors of Indian economy. He thanked Shri Bhattacharya and the State Bank of Indore for taking this commendable step. He further added that institution of research chairs by industry is indeed a win-win situation both for the industry and the academia. While these endowments provide useful support for research activities at the academic institution, the sponsor would have the benefit of picking up on the brightest brains of the country to focus on matters of updation and research of direct interest to the sponsors. As per the terms of the MoU, IIMI shall ensure that the State Bank of Indore Chair Professor shares from time to time with the State Bank of Indore the important global developments taking place in the field of Banking and Finance, and shall be available to guide research at State Bank of Indore as and when requested. State Bank of Indore shall have sole and exclusive right over the research work carried out by the State Bank of Indore Chair Professor in the field of Banking and Finance. However, the research work can be published in reputed domestic/international journal after obtaining prior permission of State Bank of Indore. Shri T. S. Bhattacharya stated that the State Bank of Indore has been fully committed to its social responsibilities and have been actively participating in community development programs in the region. He expressed satisfaction on this collaboration. He further added that the relationship between State Bank of Indore and IIM Indore has been multifaceted, they are only happy that they have added one more facet to it. Concluded.
