NITIE Organizes Annual Alumni Meet - "Sansmaran 2005"

Mumbai, February 26, 2005: 'Sansmaran' is organized in NITIE to keep the interaction between the institute and alumni alive and kicking. This event is for the NITIE alumni community from all parts of the world to relive their fantastic experiences with their loved ones. It's the time for nostalgia, to go down the memory lane with your old friends, faculties and your seniors.

Sansmaran 2005, conducted on 26th February in NITIE auditorium and lawns, was full of fun and enthusiasm and had its usual glamour and charm. Sansmaran at NITIE is about Sanskar (tradition), Smaran (memories), Sanskriti (culture) and Sangsparash (bonding). The event was a huge success with over 75 alumni and their families coming to NITIE and experiencing an evening of nostalgia and reminiscences.

The event started by having the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the alumni where important issues for the betterment of NITIE were discussed. The AGM was presided over by the Director of NITIE, Mr. Ashok Mishra and the Associate Dean (Placements), Mr. Ashok Pundir. The proceedings in the auditorium began with the director's address. He told about the strides that NITIE had made in past and shared plans for the future. As this is the Silver Jubilee for the IE-7 Batch, the alumni from that batch were felicitated by him. This was followed by few of the alumni members sharing their wonderful experiences during their stay at NITIE. Following this, the present batch of students displayed their talent by presenting dances and skits which was very much appreciated by the audience.

The gathering then moved to the NITIE lawns for some innovative games. One of the games had the alumni and their families divided into seven groups. Situational questions were then asked and the groups answering correctly scored points. The event was extremely lively with Mr. Amit Doshi (IM-1) compeering and grilling the various groups with his trademark wit and humour. Finally, dinner was served and a beautiful evening that added colour and glitter to Sansmaran came to an end.

Concluded.
