14th Annual Convocation at XIM, Bhubaneswar

    Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, popularly known as XIMB, owes its origin to the initiatives of the Government of Orissa and the Jesuit Society. XIMB has focused on quality and rigorous education, best and excellent academic infrastructure, cutting edge technology and creative innovation. All these efforts have paid rich dividends - XIMB is ranked among the top ten B-Schools in the country. Today, XIMB in its eighteenth year of existence is recognized as not only an institution for excellent management education but also for education with a social conscience.

    The 14th Annual Convocation of XIMB on the 14th of March, 2005 saw the industry, media and academia rubbing shoulders. The chief guest for the evening was Shri. Jamshyd Godrej, the Chairman and Managing Director of Godrej and Boyce Manufacturing Company. Also present were the Chairman of the XIMB Governing Board, Mr. Rajive Kaul, who presided over the ceremony, Fr. E. Abraham, S.J., Director, Fr. C. L. George, S.J., Dean (Administration & Finance) and Prof. W. S. William, Dean (Academics) of XIMB.

    The past year will go down as a landmark year in the history of XIMB. The institute saw record placements including foreign placements. XIMB also had a tie up with the Confederation of Indian Industry to form a XIMB - CII Center of Excellence. The passing out batches of PGP 2003-2005, PGPRM 2003-2005 and Executive PGP 2002-2005 will carry a proud tradition from the portals of XIMB.

    There is never a dearth of initiatives in XIMB. The Convocation saw the launch of "VILAKSHAN", the XIMB Journal of Management.

    The Director - Fr. E. Abraham, S.J., Dean (Administration & Finance) - Fr. C. L. George, S.J., and Dean (Academics) - Prof. W. S. William along with the rest of the XIMB family wished the graduating batch the very best in life and hoped that they would take forward the spirit and tradition of XIMB and surely shine in the annals of "Corporate India".
