The Sixth Annual Convocation Held at IIM Indore

Post-event Press-release: Jubilant cheers rent the normally placid and sombre atmosphere that characterises the Academic Block. There was though, good reason for the same. The Sixth Annual Convocation for the Class of 2005 was held on the evening of the 21st of March.

The Class of 2005 has come back to campus for the final hurrah. The crowning moment of a year that has seen them achieve many firsts was witnessed and celebrated by their families who had come in from all over the country.

The Prize Winners and the Pre-convocation

The pre-convocation ceremony was held on the evening of the 20th of March to felicitate the Members of the outgoing Student's Council and the gentlemen at the top of academic merit list. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Paul Abraham, the COO of ABN-AMRO Bank. Mr. Abraham, who is another stalwart of the banking sector, exhorted the participants to lead a "purpose driven life with the virtues of humility intact."

He encouraged them to give, as that is a measure of what one will get back. He too, like Mr. Purwar did the next day, challenged the participants to prove their worth within this blessed country that is India. It is imperative to do so within our own boundaries and we should aspire to create conditions wherein there is no need to go outside to the Silicon Vallies of the world, but people would instead flock to India as the centre of excellence.

Academic excellence is enriching in a monetary sense as well!

This year saw scholarships worth Rs. 5 lakhs being awarded to the gentlemen at the top of the academic merit list.
