IIM Indore Forges Partnership with EM-Lyon for Students' Foreign Exchange Program

Indore, March 28, 2005: In today's business environment, it is essential that a manager should be aware of the business practices, ethics and values followed around the world. IIM Indore feels the best way for a management student to acquire these awareness levels is via interaction with students, faculty and business from the international arena. Faculty from the top schools in the world are regular visitors at our campus.

Notable names among the recent Speakers in the past year are Prof. Shyam Sunder of the Yale School of Management and Prof. Prabir Bagchi, Senior Associate Dean at George Washington University School of Business.

In what we believe is the start of a trend, we are pleased to announce that the partnership with one of the top ranked universities of France - Ecole de Management de Lyon (EM-Lyon) has been forged. Participants of the Class of 2006 are now preparing to avail of this wonderful opportunity. French classes are in full swing and the new buzz words on campus are - "Nous allons en France".

Pardon our French! That is translated into "We are going to France".

Ecole de Management de Lyon

The institute was founded in 1872 by the local business community, and affiliated to the Lyon Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The institute is ranked 3rd in France for its International MBA program and among the top 40 European Business Schools. The campus is just 10 minutes from the Centre of Lyon and is set in pleasant rural surroundings.

The university offers students and companies a wide variety of opportunities to improve their management and entrepreneurial competencies in a multicultural environment. The emphasis on entrepreneurship lies at the heart of all EM-LYON educational programmes, giving the school a unique position in European management education.

The Indian Institute of Management, Indore has allocated the highest priority to establishing more exchange programs. EM LYON is the first of what we believe will be many tie-ups with business schools in the global arena.

Concluded.
