"Corporate Wisdom" kick-started at DoMS, IIT Madras by Ms. Mythili Chandrashekhar, JWT

Ms. Mythili Chandrashekhar kick-started "Corporate Wisdom" at DoMS, IIT Madras. Corporate Wisdom is a series of lectures where top management from companies give gyaan to the future managers at IIT Madras.

She took the students through the entire process of designing an ad-campaign for pesticide "Neemazol". She stressed on the fact that regional diversities should be understood and should be tapped correctly in order to penetrate into the local market. She also talked about the surrogate advertising and the role of servicing departments in ad agencies. She explained all the processes involved in making an ad-campaign for any product/company. She said, "You need to identify why a brand is better than any competition for a particular target group, what does the brand promise and how does the brand support the customers".

Going beyond the ad-campaigns, she also talked about the spaces in the market which can be used to market any products; once the organization understands and catches the pulse of any space, it can successfully market its product in that space. She said, "Conflicts are a ground for out-of-box-the ideas; wherever there is a conflict there is an opportunity to sell a product. You need to stick to basics, like asking yourselves who am I talking to or who am I selling to?"

The session was an interactive one where students continuously kept on shooting questions and she was equipped with all the arms to answer them back. It was a great learning experience having such a distinguished manager sharing all the intricacies with the students and the students look forward for more such sessions in future.
