Complete Round-up of VISTA 2006, the Business Fest at IIM Bangalore
Post-event Press-release

Vista Day 1: October 13, 2006

The Annual Business Festival of IIM Bangalore, VISTA, kicked off today. Organized by The Forum for Industrial Interaction (FII), responsible for student-industry-academia interaction in IIMB, VISTA gives students a ring-side view of the corporate world. One of the largest B-school fests in the country, VISTA is centered on the theme "Business Beyond Boundaries", this year.
This year, the fest has drawn participation from over 100 business schools and universities from all over India and over 6000 online participants. Team VISTA expects there to be close to 12,000 footfalls at the IIM Bangalore campus, with over 5 million hits on the website, making it the most popular B-school fest across the country. With a total partnership of close to Rs. 70 lakhs and prize money worth Rs. 13.1 lakhs (including online events), VISTA 2006 is expected to be a break-through success, re-defining and setting new standards for all B-school fests over India.

This year, VISTA sees a wide range of new events, in addition to favorites from previous years (a total of 20) - including the Keynote Speaker Address, Panel Discussion, Media Conclave, Workshops, Games, Paper Presentations, the Biz-Quiz and many others. Vista Online Wars, which kicked off the event in cyberspace, included a number of online quizzes, crosswords and other events like simulated trading games, that have attracted participants from all over the country.

VISTA's events for the day kicked off with 'Tata Boardroom Wars', a first of its kind simulation game in which teams of students will analyze real-life situations and take decisions on the fly as the board of a company. As a war among India's best business schools, the event is fielding nine teams of six students each from eight of India's leading B-schools fighting it out for a grand prize of Rs. 1 lakh.

'Reliance Numero Uno' kicked off today with the arrival of participants selected from 13 of the best business schools in the country who are here to take part in this challenging new event. The stakes are higher than ever, and they stand to not just win Rs. 1 lakh but also get to be crowned as the Reliance Numero Uno, a title that is all the more prestigious due to the rigorous and comprehensive nature of testing that the event entails. It spread over all three days of Vista, with each day testing different skills.
