Manfest 2007 Goes Global With More and More International B-schools Participating
Manfest 2007 also earns the ISO 9001:2000 Certification

Manfest 2007, the just concluded IIM Lucknow’s Annual Business Event, has witnessed a tremendous growth with maximum participation from all the B-schools of India and the international arena as well.

At Treatise, one of the major events at Manfest, the global participation really took off.
"The international Thought Challenge", witnessed participation from B-schools in North America, Europe, Singapore and other South-East Asian countries. The event became one of the most innovative and noticeable activities this year in the global business school space. As many as 26 Indian and 23 International Business Schools participated in Manfest 2007.

Manfest took immense strides in the quality arena when it was awarded ISO 9001:2000 Certification, which became one of the highlights of this mega event. The ISO certification achieved by Manfest is about quality, well-defined processes, growth, participation and the increase in the initiatives amongst the partners.

Nirvaan, the entrepreneurship challenge, was also very well-received. The event received fascinating proposals that could be funded by Nirma Labs. The winners of the incubation funding prize were Sunshine from BIM Trichy, whose idea of a social venture concerning employment of blind people in BPO companies found favour amongst the judges. They received Rs. 20 Lakhs from Nirma Labs for their venture.

Manfest was inaugurated by Mr. Raghu Pillai, the CEO of Reliance Retail. The inauguration also witnessed the release of Manfest’s publication, Gravitas. Gravitas comprises the views of India’s foremost leaders, industrialists, economists, policy makers and thinkers. Some personalities that have contributed to Gravitas are Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam - President of India, Mukesh Ambani - Chairman of Reliance Industries, B. N. Kalyani - Chairman and MD of Bharat Forge, K. M. Birla - Chairman of Aditya Birla Group, among other well-known names.

The conclave had some of the eminent speakers like Ms. Roopa Purushothaman, Co-author of the influential BRICs Report and Chief Economist, Future’s Group, Mr. Prahlad Kakar - Ad Maker, Mr. Ajit Balakrishnan - CEO, Rediff, Mr. Raghu Pillai - Chief Executive, Reliance Retail, Mr. F. C. Kohli - Father of Indian IT Industry, Mr. Chandra Sekaran - MD, Cognizant, and Mr. Robbert De Haas - Global HR Director, ING.
