R. D. Aga Memorial Lecture Series Held at SIIB, Pune

'One can make a difference' - was the theme of the R. D. Aga Memorial Lecture Series held at Symbiosis Institute of International Business (SIIB) on 5th March 2007. This event is held every year to commemorate the memory of the Late Shri R. D. Aga, founder father, Thermax Ltd., a visionary by himself.

The event started with a short film which truly exemplified the theme - 'One can make a difference' - followed by a welcome speech by the Director of SIIB, Dr. (Mrs.) Rajani Gupte. Dr. S. B. Mujumdar, Chancellor, Symbiosis International University then delivered the key note address.

Mrs. Anu Aga, chief guest at the event, commenced her speech with a quote from her husband, Late Shri R. D. Aga, "Profit is not only a set of figures but of values." She said that the rising sensex cannot be a sign of the overall growth of India and asked the privileged section of the society to contribute towards the growth of the country.

The first speaker for the day was Mr. Rajendra Singh, who has been instrumental in the creation of Tarun Bharat Sangh. This 2001 Ramon Magsaysay Awardee said that it is nice to think in a confident manner that one can make a difference as an individual but he must move towards sowing the seeds of change within others.
