Kapil Sibal, Minister of Science & Technology, Confers Diplomas at IMI-Delhi

    Previous

For the students, the Ministers advice was simple and focused. "This degree of yours is, a blunt but effective instrument to put the world into shape. So go forth and build something with it. It is a great time to be in India and to be of your generation. So good luck in shaping the world and your life."

Shri R. P. Goenka, Chairman & Board of Directors, IMI, presented the Post Graduate Diplomas in all the different programmes held at IMI - the one year full-time Post Graduate Programme in International Management (PGPIM), two year full-time Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) and three year part-time Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM).

Shri Kapil Sibal & Dr. C. S. Venkata Ratnam, at IMI's 23rd Convocation

Welcoming Shri Kapil Sibal and the Board of Trustess of IMI, Dr. C. S. Venkata Ratnam, Director, IMI, said, "IMI's future growth will be more propelled by expansion in training, consultancy and research than teaching programs. We would like to be reckoned as a research-based teaching institution with emphasis on applied and action research to influence policy and improve management of organisations. We have more than trebled our gross revenue from consultancy and training in the last two years. We did climate / engagement surveys and/or prepared corporate plans for six companies. We are partnering with ITC IBD in preparing customised learning materials for e-Chaupal hub manager. We are also working with an NGO in creating leadership and professional management for community-owned companies in crafts clusters. During the year, the Ministry of Communication and IT sanctioned a pro-IMI as a lead partner in a consortium comprising two IITS and the National Productivity Council for a three-year project on Leveraging IT for the Knowledge Economy."
