Blood Donation Camp Held at IIM Bangalore Receives Great Reponse from Students

IIM Bangalore students turned up in large numbers to donate blood at the camp conducted by Vikasana, the student run social service initiative of IIMB in association with the Lions Club at the IIMB campus on Sunday.

Twenty five percent of the donated units will be given free to government hospitals and rest will be stored at the Lions Blood Bank to be distributed to government hospitals, private hospitals and nursing homes as and when they need it. All donors were given donor certificates which enable them to receive free blood units from the Lions Blood Bank once.

Vikasana and the Lions Club have been associated with each other for the past three years and conduct blood donation camps twice a year with great response from the students each time, contributing to the cause and making a difference. Other Vikasana initiatives include a wide variety of activities from awareness generation to helping underprivileged children in areas of education and sports. Pursuing its mission to contribute to society, Vikasana works through the year, sometimes with non-governmental set-ups also, to aid in social change.

Concluded.
