JBIMS, Mumbai Concludes its Summer Placement Process - Saw Participation from 88 Companies

After an all-encompassing winter of discontent, it was time for students to bask in the sunlight, with the cold winds of recession having blown away. The recently concluded Summer Placement process at Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS) saw participation from 88 companies.

Well aware of the institute's mission of maintaining a tradition of excellence and nurturing young talent, leading corporates make it a point to visit the campus in their quest for world class managers. In addition to maintaining its 100% placement record, JBIMS attracted companies from varied and diverse sectors, retaining its position as a preferred choice for recruiters.

The Summer Placement process this year saw the corporate world repose its faith in the institute once again and this was reflected in the active participation of regular recruiters. JP Morgan Chase, Citibank, HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank, Deutsche Bank, ICICI Bank, HUL, Procter & Gamble PepsiCo, ITC, Britannia and Colgate Palmolive were some of the heavyweights that made their presence felt this placement season. Apart from the coveted regular recruiters from sectors like Banking, FMCG, Financial Services, Pharma, Consulting, IT and Telecom, this year also witnessed companies from sectors like Hospitality, Media and Insurance recruiting in large numbers, indicating an interest among students in exploring new avenues and venturing on the road less travelled.

The Percentage Distribution of the Students Placed in Various Sectors is as Given below:

The highlight of the placement season was the range of profiles offered in various sectors of Finance, Marketing, Operations and General Management. The diverse profiles offered varied from Consulting to Credit Risk Analysis, from Treasury to Private Equity and from Product Development to Sales & Marketing. This is an indication of the belief the corporate world has in the talent being groomed at JBIMS and recognition of the fiercely competitive selection process. With such an impressive array of recruiters from different sectors to choose from, the profile, role and alignment with the long term goals of the student concerned took centre stage. The Average Stipend this year stood at Rs. 48,000 and the highest stipend offered crossed the six figure mark.
