XLRI, Jamshedpur to Conduct Finance Seminar in Association with ICWAI
Theme: "Risk Management"
On February 10, 2008

XLRI School of Business & Human Resources in association with the Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India presents the 'XLRI Finance Seminar' (XFS) scheduled on 10th of February, 2008.

The underlying theme of the seminar will be 'Risk Management' and it will act as a platform for fruitful interaction between finance professionals, institutions, media, academia and policy-makers and to position the institute as one of the most renowned destination for finance professionals in the country.

The seminar will witness participation from various dignitaries who will come together on a common stage and enrich the discussions with their vast experience and their vision for the future. The event will be co-sponsored by Larsen & Toubro Limited and the confirmed dignitaries addressing the audience include: -

  • Dr. A. K. Sarkar, Director (Finance), Central Coalfields Limited

  • Mr. N. K. Mishra, Group Head (Mergers & Acquisitions), Tata Steel

  • Mr. Robin Roy, Principal Consultant, PricewaterhouseCoopers

    The XLRI Finance Seminar will involve a panel discussion on the topic 'Mergers & Acquisitions: A Risky Proposition?'. Apart from this, the seminar will also see discussions on topics such as 'Sub-prime Lending Crisis: Causes & Effects', 'Rating Agencies: Driven by Values?', 'Risk Management for Banking Industry' and 'Foreign Exchange Rates: Global Risks of Currency'.

    The audience for the seminar will comprise of finance professionals and industry experts from across the country, executives from ICWAI, faculty and students of XLRI and representatives from industries in Jamshedpur and Kolkata.
