Tempest 2005: The Freshers Revelry @ IMI, India

Contrary to its name, the rain gods did not bless the venue but there was no dearth of excitement, which poured in from all quarters at the PGP 2007 welcome party on 30th July 2005. The ever-vibrant Amphi was buzzing with excitement as the festivities kicked off at around 9 p.m. with some soulful renditions by the senior batch starting with the - "Sabse peeche hum Khade" to the haunting "Kabristan" followed by a dance medley which really got the scene rocking.

Up next were the Mr. and Miss Freshers, which showcased the best of talents from the batch of 2007. The judges did a lot of brainstorming, judging many canny and uncanny aspects of the contestants and the eventual winners Faraaz Mehdi and Shipra Wahi won the hearts of one and all, rightfully deserving their titles.

The party changed gears as the focus shifted to the dance floor with everyone letting their hair loose. The DJ belted out numbers, which held the entire pack captive for hours together. Besides the Punjabi numbers, "Kajra re" and "Dus Bahaane" really got the pulse of the crowd racing. The entire group literally danced as if there were no tomorrow and eventually it was the peacocks from the nearby forest area who figuratively reminded the people "Subah ho gayi Maamu", and sadly enough, the night of dreams had faded into daylight.

An enterprising event like Tempest literally reflects the true spirit of the institution and gives the students enough reason to enjoy every moment of their stay at a wonderful place like IMI.

Concluded.
