AIMS'05: The Annual IT Management Seminar at IIM K IT India has reached a critical inflexion point. Will one of the oldest civilizations of the world morph itself into a knowledge superpower or will it be yet another case of a dream dying young? As the Indian IT community battles its growth pangs, IIMK sets the stage for thought leaders, visionaries and oracles to discuss and debate this question at India's biggest academia-industry campus conclave of the year; to be held on 20th and 21st August, 2005. The Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode (IIMK) is organizing the Annual IT Management Seminar (AIMS) 2005 at the institute's campus in Kozhikode (Calicut), Kerala, on August 20-21, 2005. The event is supported by NASSCOM, and is sponsored by Tata Consultancy Services and Satyam. The online media partner for the event is Rediff.com. The event is organized by abaKus, the systems and consulting interest group at IIMK. This seminar will present a platform for top IT and consulting gurus in the country to share their experiences and learnings with their industry peers and current MBA students who aspire to become globally-aware and technically-skilled managers and entrepreneurs. AIMS'05 will also set the stage for an exhibition of Mobilis, 'the new face of anytime anywhere affordable computing' by Encore Software, who have been pioneers in giving India the revolutionary Simputer. Participants of AIMS will be given a free demonstration of Mobilis and its various features. The eminent speakers at the conclave would address the theme of the seminar - "IT India: Crossing the Chasm". The speakers at the event are amongst the celebrated names in the IT and consulting fraternity and whose competency has stood the test of time. Mr. Ajit Balakrishnan, Founder & CEO - Rediff.com would provide his valuable inputs on "Entrepreneurship in e-business, current challenges and future perspectives". AIMS will also see a talk on the major challenges faced by today's outsoucing vendors by Ms. Aruna Jayanthi, VP & Head of Outsourcing - Cap Gemini. Ms. Jessie Paul, the new Chief Marketing Officer from Wipro Technologies would share her experiences in Marketing of IT Solutions. Mr. Vinay Deshpande, CEO - Encore Technologies & Chairman - Simputer Trust would share with us his experiences on New Market Development and Marketing. Mr. Sriniketh Raman from Cognizant Technology Solutions will highlight the next big steps in Offshore IT.
