Deadline for Paper Submission: September 15, 2005

The Institution

Traversing the by-lanes of time, Tata Institute of Social Sciences has become synonymous with being the harbinger of value-oriented education juxtaposed with rich tradition. Among the practitioners of Human Resource Management, the institute needs little introduction. For almost five decades now, the Department of Personnel Management and Industrial Relations has been churning out a unique genre of human resource professionals equipped with a consummate blend of suave corporate professionalism and deep-seated human values.

About Manthan

Manthan is the Annual Business Seminar organized by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences with an aim to create a common forum where industry, academia and the student community can meet, share knowledge, exchange ideas and gain new perspectives. We seek to achieve this aim through interactive sessions, case studies, paper presentations and the business quiz.

KHOJ

Khoj was initiated for the first time in Manthan 2004. Knowledge, the basis of all human activities, is omnipresent. Khoj endeavors to be a forum for recognition and dissemination of the same. It seeks to source knowledge from executives of the corporate world. The idea is to travel beyond the peripherals of business, to gauge the depth of learning and reward talent.

Call for Papers

We invite participants from the corporate houses to submit seminar papers on the theme,

'Success across Time Frames - Moving towards a healthy organization'

Papers could be theoretical or empirical. Papers may focus on typologies, beyond myopic view of company's success based on financials. Paper may focus on long term initiatives in the organization, robust metrics to assess the initiatives, alignment of other organizational systems and processes with the long-term goals. Papers focusing on other themes relevant in the context of organizational health for an effective organization are also acceptable. All papers will be short-listed for presentation by an expert panel comprising academicians and practitioners.
