National Entrepreneurship Challenge at FMS, Delhi
Submission of Executive Summary & Team Registration: September 30, 2005

With the Indian economy in interesting times, the hot pick for B school students these days is Entrepreneurship. The Entrepreneurship Cell at FMS, Delhi is organizing National Entrepreneurship Challenge, a Business Plan Contest, which is open to Business Schools and select Undergraduate Colleges across India. It is envisioned as a platform for students to showcase their business ideas in front of corporate India as embodied by the tagline of the competition ‘Concept to Creation’.

The incentives include a whopping 2 lakhs worth of prize money sponsored by YES Bank as well as an opportunity to showcase your business plan in front of international venture capitalists like Silicon Valley Bank. The board of directors who will decide the final winners on 10th of December includes the MD of AT Kearney, Mr. Vivek Gupta, former E & Y Head Kashinath Memani and the chief economic advisor to the government of India, Dr. Ashok Lahiri.

"In NEC, we are paying attention to the practical issue, People have the ideas but where is the money? Hence, the focus is to get the capital for our budding entrepreneurs. And we mean big capital!" Says Abhijeet Maheshwari, President of Entrepreneurship Cell of FMS, Delhi.

Prizes

Postgraduate Level:
Entrepreneur of the year: INR 50,000
1st Runners up: INR 30,000
2nd Runners up: INR 20,000

Undergraduate Level:
Entrepreneur of the year: INR 50,000
1st Runners up: INR 30,000
2nd Runners up: INR 20,000

The prize money for both the categories is separate.

Apart from the prize money, the top teams will present their business plans in front of venture capitalists such as Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) and The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE). International Venture Capitalists will also be invited.
