Life at a B-school is never at rest and IFMR is no exception to this. Classes running till late evenings and deadlines for assignments running closer, presentations and mid-terms always knocking at the door, but IFMR students have managed to keep the various
students' clubs alive. July-end marked the beginning of the club events.

IFMR has 8 Student Clubs apart from the usual media and placement committees, which are as follows, Arthsabha (Finance Club), Mitr (HR Club), Insight (Marketing Club), Edge (IT Club), TEC (The Entrepreneurship Club), Seventh Sense (Creativity Club), Samarthan (Social Service Club) and The Health & Sports Club.

Arthsabha, the Finance Club, conducted the first event of the season which was a talk on the Tirupur issue by Prof. Bobby Srinivasan where students gained a lot of knowledge and exposure to derivatives and their effects (Prof. Bobby handles International Finance and Investment Management papers for the 2nd year students). The next event was launching of the series of finance quizzes called 'Pluto'. The first quiz was conducted in the month of August. The series will cover quizzes on a monthly basis. The next event of the finance club is on equity research analysis and will be conducted soon.

Mitr, the HR Club, decided to start from basics so as to let students understand what they are as an individual and how others perceive them to be without their knowledge. So in order to make students realize issues relating to self, the HR Club conducted an event called 'The Freudian Dilemma', which took students through various rounds to know what they think they are, and then know what others perceive them to be, followed by a quick whacky CV writing competition which was followed by an interview based on the CV.

Insight, the Marketing Club, has always been one of the favorite clubs at IFMR, and it used innovative ways to promote its first event 'The Long Tail', and used several kinds of reinforcements to make the students look out for the event. It witnessed the maximum participation and was a fun-filled experience for all. The event was based on products, companies, tag-lines and advertisements, and students were tested on their general awareness about the companies.

Edge, the IT Club, organized workshop for students to learn how to use Photoshop and Macromedia to enhance the creativity in them, and enable them to bring out their ideas in a more creative way. The IT Club also conducted a series of LAN Gaming events in the evenings after dinner, so that the students can take a break to enjoy after a hectic day.
