Tattv '08 aims towards exploring strategic foresight as a tool which provides power for envisioning the future of businesses and their operations.

Strategic Foresight: The Theme

Strategic foresight is the outcome of judging the future on the anvil of "Vision", "Innovation", and "Thinking". Imagine what it might look like, and then come back to the present day with new insights. We don't have a time machine, but we do have foresight techniques that help us stand in the future. When we truly "stand in the future", we are able to create a view that is unrestricted by the present. Strategic foresight has developed in response to the problems of rapid change and inadequate planning processes. It is an integrated approach to strategy that allows managers to discover and articulate a preferred direction of their organization, while exploring the strategic foresight in the areas of "Creativity", "Vision", "Innovation", and "Synergy".

The Sessions

The symposium is spread over a length of two days, and is segregated into six sessions, which are focused on strategic foresight while also unfolding sub-dimensions of: -

Pragmatic Foresight - The marriage of innovation, business and vision.

Progressive Foresight- The portrait of vision, innovation and thinking.

Civilizational Foresight - The encompassment of society and environment.
