It is often said that the greatest of the battles though are fought on the battle-fields but are planned in the minds and are won in the hearts. SIOM provides an opportunity to students to realize their own self by following the noble path of Vipassana, a way of self-transformation
through self-observation. The technique is taught at a ten-day residential course in which the students follow a prescribed code of discipline. Activities include meditation, group-sittings, teacher's discourse, individual sittings with the teacher, and meditation in private cells. The purpose of Vipassana is to experience "Everything is Anichya (Impermanent)".

Again, one has to experience it and not just accept it on an intellectual level. Some tame their wild horses of anger, some are victorious over tormenting tensions, for some it is nirvana from confusions, for some it is discovery of direction, but not a single soul goes empty-handed from this Tapovana.

As a part of 360-degree approach adopted by SIOM, the institute also facilitates the conduct of Art of Living programme, another tool to inculcate the right attitude and mental strength to sustain and succeed in the cut-throat competition.

At SIOM, we get an opportunity to show off our other talents as well. With the two annual fests, Tattv - the national summit, and Drishti - the national cultural fest, the cultural committee, which organises various intra-college competitions, the sports committee which organises intra-college sports competitions makes sure that the students are on their toes round the year.

All these events being managed and handled by the students bring out the best team-building exercise possible. All in all, SIOM provides ample opportunities to students to bring the best out of them and learn the art of effective management.
