IIM Calcutta Organizes "Entrepreneurship Summit 2009" in Association with SIDBI & NEN

The Centre for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at IIM Calcutta, in association with SIDBI and National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN), is organizing the Second Annual Entrepreneurship Summit on 24 January 2009 at the IIM Calcutta campus. The main objective

of the event is to create awareness among students about entrepreneurship, create synergy between academia and the practitioners, and align entrepreneurship with management education.

The speakers for the event include eminent entrepreneurs and stalwarts from the industry. It is expected to be attended by several faculty and heads of institutes and hundreds of students from across the country.

This year's event would focus on four specific aspects of entrepreneurship: -

Youth Power and Spirit of Excellence

Generation to Generation: How Entrepreneur Families Succeed?

Beyond Borders: What Drives Entrepreneurship in Global Arena?

Corporate Entrepreneurship: How Entrepreneurial is Your Organization?

Panel discussions would be held on these topics with role model entrepreneurs known in the domain for setting high standards in business excellence and note-worthy achievements.

The speakers include Mr. Sanjeev Bikhchandani (Founder & CEO, Naukri.com) and Mr. Kunwer Sachdev (CEO, Sukam) who will lead the Keynote Discussion, "Entrepreneurship: A Way of Life".

Other speakers include Mr. R. Ramaraj (Venture Capitalist, Sequoia Capital India; Co-founder & Ex-CEO of SIFY), Mr. Sarath Babu (Founder & CEO, Foodking Catering), Mr. Sachin Duggal (CEO, Nivio), Mr. Bikram Dasgupta (Chairman & CEO, Globsyn Group) and Mr. Abhishek Rungta (Founder & CEO, Indus Net Technologies), among others.

One of the highlights of the event would be an Enterprise Quiz, interspersed between the various panel discussions, to be conducted by Mr. Charanpreet Singh, Dean, Praxis Business School.
