Students of IIM Shillong Hold Mentorship Program for MBA Aspirants

With the success of the first round of CAT under their belt, the MBA aspirants are gearing up to face the next and final rounds, Group Discussions and Personal Interviews. The panic and anxiety amongst them has increased hundred-fold owing to a more fierce competition.

The students of the seventh Indian Institute of Management in Shillong understood this anxiety and decided to lend a helping hand to the call-getters. Started under the banner of "Mentorship Program - IIM Shillong", the initiative reached out to more than 600 students who received calls from IIM Shillong and registered for the program. The 64 students of the first batch, currently undergoing internships, have been helping these students in terms of what they should expect from the GD/PI process. The program has a pan-India reach with huge responses from NCR, Bangalore, Kolkata and Chennai.

The aspirants have been assigned a mentor who is personally guiding his/her mentee via both e-mails and by meeting them in person. Though most of the IIMs are doing similar mentorship programs, the call-getters were pleasantly surprised by the first batch of IIM Shillong who arranged it just eight months in the course. The aspirants are really thankful to the batch for taking time out of their busy internship schedules to guide them.
