8 Consecutive Days of Successful Computer-Based NMAT Builds Confidence Among Student Community

India's premier management school, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies' (NMIMS), successfully administered the NMAT test to the 30,000th candidate on day 8 today, according to a statement from Chairman, NMAT Admissions Committee.

Dwelling on the well established methods decided by NMIMS and Pearson VUE to ensure fairness to all test-takers across time slots, test sites, or test form, Dr. Anthony Zara, Vice President-Global Credentialing Solutions, Pearson VUE, said, "To ensure fairness of a test to all candidates, Pearson VUE employs industry-standard psychometric methods for the analysis and equating of all test forms. As part of this process, we capture any feedback on test items from test takers during test delivery."

Dr. Zara further added, "We analyze the feedback received to identify any problematic items in addition to those that have questionable statistical properties, from both a content expert and psychometric perspective during the post test review. Any item that is identified as flawed will not be used for scoring the NMAT."

Pearson VUE follows standard global equating norms and practices to create comparable scores from multiple test forms.

"This process is key to fairness in scoring for all candidates, ensuring that no candidate is advantaged or disadvantaged due to the assigned time slot, test site, or test form," Dr. Zara added.

The NMAT, being conducted in 19 cities in India by Pearson VUE, will admit candidates to nearly 570 seats in management programs of NMIMS. The NMIMS will use these test results for admission to MBA Core (300 seats); MBA Actuarial Sciences (30 seats); Capital markets (30 seats); Banking (30 seats); Pharma Management (60 seats); MBA Part Time (120 seats) and Executive Doctoral Program (25 seats).

Concluded.
