Dr. Devi Singh Begins His Second Term as Director at IIM Lucknow

Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIM-L) has appointed Dr. Devi Singh for a second term as its new Director. Dr. Singh took charge as the Director of IIM Lucknow. He was welcomed by the senior faculty members and the Deans.

Dr. Devi Singh first assumed charge as Director of Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow in August 2003. In his tenure, IIM Lucknow has witnessed unprecedented growth. IIM Lucknow also became the first-ever IIM to start an additional campus under his able stewardship. The Noida Campus of IIM Lucknow is being developed as a centre for advanced learning for middle- and senior-level executives.

On the academic front, IIM Lucknow also launched several new programmes in the last five years: Agri-business Management Programme in 2004, Post Graduate Programme in Management for Working Managers in 2005 at Noida Campus, and International Programme in Management for Executives (IPMX) at Noida Campus in April 2008, are a few among them.

There has been a considerable increase in the students intake in the Post Graduate Programme, which has increased from 240 in 2004 to 330 in 2008. Revenues from MDPs have gone up by more than three times, and are in excess of Rs. 10 Crore.

"We at IIM Lucknow believe in excellence in education, research, consulting and training. During my second tenure, I would like to see IIM Lucknow spread its wings not only in the country but also internationally," say Dr. Devi Singh, Director, IIM Lucknow. "In addition, my focus will be on increasing faulty strength, looking closely at infrastructure development, and consolidating our existing programmes both at Lucknow & Noida campuses," he adds.
