Other than this, the program also includes Course work / Academic sessions at IIM Calcutta, IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras. Two week Sessions on Breakthrough Management and five steps discovery process which will be personally taken by Prof. Shoji Shiba, an ex-professor in Sloan School of Management, USA.

After successfully completing two previous batches, IIM Calcutta has recently launched the 3rd batch of PGPEx VLM which comprises of 30 students, drawn from manufacturing engineers representing major Indian corporations like BOC, NTPC, ITC, National Aluminum, General Motors, Tata Motors, Crompton Greaves, Ashok Leyland, Reliance Industries, Hidustan Unilever, Hero Honda, Hindustan Aeronautics, Glaxo Smith kline, SAIL, Dell India and Tata Steel. Incidentally this time the female students of manufacturing engineering fraternity has been successfully addressed to with an entry of a female student among the current batch of 30 odd ones.

During IIM Calcutta's 44th Annual Convocation held a few days ago, in presence of the Chairman of the program along with professors from IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras and Professor Shoji Shiba, the successful students from first batch received prestigious award for their outstanding performance, which includes Chairman NMCC's Gold Medal for being the first rank holder to Sachin Gupta, JICA Gold Medal for being the second rank holder to Amit Jain and IIMC Alumni Association Calcutta Chapter Gold Medal for being the third rank holder to Pritiman Panigrahi.

This batch is scheduled to visit Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tata Cummins in Jamshedpur, Century Plywood in Calcutta and Haldia Petrochemicals as part of domestic industrial visit in eastern region.
