MICA Hosts Talk by Mr. Palekar on Communication Strategy of Eureka Forbes

Ahmedabad, September 4, 2005: Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad today organized a talk by Mr. S. B. Palekar, the Senior Vice President-Marketing and Knowledge Management, Eureka Forbes.

In a successful career of 30 years, Mr. S. K. Palekar has been involved in marketing branded consumer durables and services in a host of Indian firms and MNCs. He has held prestigious positions in bodies like the ABBY Award Judging Committee, the Bombay Ad Club, and the Bombay Chamber of Commerce.

He with his straightforward presentation stressed on how communication is of paramount importance in the field of direct marketing as in the case of Eureka Forbes. He left the audience spellbound with the story of the role of communication in the form of door-to-door demonstration done by Eureka Forbe's salesmen whom the company calls "EuroChamps" that led to the success of vacuum cleaners in India from a point when it was said by the marketing agencies that the product would be a failure in the Indian Market.

The talk was a part of an initiative of MICA Lecture Series (MLS), a committee of MICA in a constant endeavor to keep students abreast with practical inputs from the corporate world in the field of marketing and communication strategies.
