Shiv Nadar, Chairman and CEO of HCL Technologies, Joins the ISB Executive Board

New Delhi, October 4, 2005: Shiv Nadar, a first generation entrepreneur, Indian IT pioneer and founder of US $ 2.5 billion HCL Enterprise joins the Executive Board of the Indian School of Business (ISB). Rajat Gupta, Chairman of the ISB, and Senior Partner Worldwide, Mckinsey & Company Inc., welcomed him at a felicitation ceremony in New Delhi.

"Shiv Nadar has been associated with the ISB since its inception. This relationship reflects Shiv's commitment to promote opportunities for students and encourage global standards in education," said Rajat Gupta. He joined in the ceremony via audio-conference from Connecticut, USA.

"Shiv is a global visionary who has many path-breaking successes to his credit. He was one of the first to visualize the success of the Indian IT industry. I believe that the same zeal will help enhance the ISB's vision to become a world-class institution," he added.

At the ceremony, Mr. Nadar who is also the Chairman and CEO of HCL Technologies shared his thoughts. "Promoting quality education in every sphere has been close to my heart and an imperative for our nation. I am glad to be associated with Indian School of Business, an institution espousing quality education in the field of management, drawing synergies from its global partners to give a truly global experience to students here."

Mr. Rajendra Pawar, Chairman, NIIT and Mr. Sunil Munjal, Managing Director, Hero Corporate Services Ltd., both Executive Board members of the ISB, were also present at the event to welcome Mr. Nadar.

The ISB's Executive Board includes industry leaders and CEOs of leading corporations in India. The Deans of the partner schools are also actively involved in its activities. The ISB is also advised by the Governing Board, which consists of industry leaders and academicians from across the world.
