First Day of Lakshya 2005 at NITIE, Mumbai
"World market begins at home," Subir Raha says at Lakshya, NITIE

"Think Global, Act Local" was the mantra given by Mr. Subir Raha, CMD, ONGC on the occasion of his felicitation by Lakshya Business Visionary Award at NITIE on 14th October 2005. Lakshya organized by PGDIE students of NITIE, Mumbai acts as a platform for facilitating industry-institute interaction.
The event started with inaugural ceremony felicitated Mr. Subir Raha, CMD, ONGC and Mr. Ratan Tata, Chairman, Tata Group. Dr. Anil Kakodkar, Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission and Secretary, DAE was the chief guest for the occasion. Mr. K. V. Kamath will be felicitated on 15th Oct with the business visionary award.

Mr. Subir Raha, well-versed with PGDIE's syllabus complimented the same and stressed on the importance of change management in today's dynamic scenario. He also encouraged students to take up job in public sectors like ONGC with its creative opportunity and independence.

It was followed by Chief guest Mr. Kakodkar's speech about youth and importance of 'Lakshya' in bringing radical change in world. 'Lakshya' brings in coherence in people's minds and actions leading to positive outcomes. He said that balance between theory and practice is must in today's dynamic scenario. He ended by asserting importance of institutes in changing tomorrow.

Mr. W. R. Sherekar, Chairman, Board of Governor, NITIE spoke on youth power in changing the world. He again stressed on importance of 'focus' or 'Lakshya' in the youth for achievement.

Dr. S. D. Awale, appreciated students efforts in organizing such a mega event that presents true picture of current industry. He stressed on the theory-application balance in PGDIE course of NITIE and the impact of such events in broadening students perspectives.
