Hard Work, Long Hours, Fun... and Much More at IIMB

Six months of hard work, sincere efforts, three more months of running around for your CAT exams, more written tests, group discussions and interviews... Result - First day at IIM, Bangalore, a dream place for students who happen to be the cream of India.

How many of us have often wondered about getting into IIM? More often than not the name is synonymous with hard work, toiling, grounding... but then when one makes it, its heaven! Less than top 1% of over 1,50,000 applicants to the CAT land up in IIMs. And when you put the best brains in the country together, you get a hectic, challenging and stimulating atmosphere which pushes each person to his hilt and extracts the best out of all.

Efforts and toiling, is that all life is about in IIM? IIMB has a different story to tell you.

"My first day at IIMB was so scary, you have brilliance spilling all over the place, everybody so good, intellectual capabilities challenged from day one. Wow! A rocking experience!" Says Sanchita, Coordinator, FII, at IIMB. "The amazing talent pool, the activities that urges one to bring out the best in you and of course the big surprise - how one could fit in so many activities in just 24 hours a day! Learning, exposure, its all here!" She says with the aura of festivity and grandeur all around her. IIMB is all set to host VISTA '05 to more than 200 college pan India. More than 8000 people are expected to attend VISTA this year.

IIMB prides in having the largest number of clubs and student bodies across IIMs that help its students build an all-round personality. There are clubs like Forum for Industrial Interaction (FII), which takes care of all student - industry - academia interaction in IIMB.

Forum for Industrial Interaction (FII) is responsible for organizing VISTA - one of India's largest B-school fest. Once the President is elected and team of 30 is selected, the preparation begins. The entire team brainstorms on the theme and the vision for VISTA every year and all this begins in the month of February for VISTA, which is to be held on October 29th, and 30th this year. "VISTA has always been an experience to cherish in every IIMB'ians life," says Hari, an alumni of IIMB, with a tinge of nostalgia in his voice.
