Mr. M. Madhusudanan of Evalueserve at MICA on 'Present & Future of KPOs'

Mudra Institute of Communications Ahmedabad (MICA) played host to Mr. Manoj Madhusudanan, Assistant Vice-President (Business Research), Evalueserve, a Knowledge Process Outsourcing Company. Mr. Madhusudanan spoke about the potential of India in the new found field of Knowledge Process Outsourcing.

He emphasized a global demand for an efficient talent pool, which India, with its numerous professionals, can fulfil. There will be a global shortfall of professionals, a case in point is the USA where in 2010 there will be a shortfall of 5.6 million professionals and this is where KPOs will come in and bring in the money. Addressing management students at MICA, he emphasized that low cost should not be considered the USP of KPOs. According to Mr. Madhusudanan, it will be India's talent pool, which will help it cut a big piece of this pie which is estimated to grow at 46% globally. He backed this argument by citing the acute shortage of professionals in the high-knowledge industry abroad.

With more and more companies now foraying in the KPO business, there is bound to be increased competition for major international projects. Mr. Madhusudanan assured the audience that even though KPO is the buzz word in today's business, it is not a bubble that is soon to burst.

His talk was well received by the audience and many debates and discussions were sparked off by the interaction. Mr. Madhusudanan has previously worked with Accenture and is an IIT-M (1998), XLRI (2001) pass-out.

Concluded.
