CaraWAN 2005: Annual Alumni Meet at Welingkar Institute of Management, Mumbai

Welingkar Institute of Management will be organizing its Annual Alumni Meet 'CaraWAN 2005' on 12th November, Saturday. CaraWAN is held every year to continue our association with Welingkar's alumni and help them catch up with the new initiatives of the institute. 'WAN' in CaraWAN stands for 'Welingkar Alumni Network' that includes some of the institute's highly respected alumni and industry professionals from all over the world.

Last year, around 600 alumni attended this meet. To strengthen our bond further, Welingkar cordially invites all its alumni from all over the world to cherish old memories and to re-live those glorious years. This annual meet is a time of nostalgia for our alumni and a unique way to show that they are still a part of our institute.

As per the latest rankings by Outlook magazine, Welingkar secured the 12th position in the country in the category of Best B-schools in India and 6th position all India in the category of 'Global Linkages'. Moving ahead steadily, the theme this year is 'Going Places' that also supports the various new initiatives taken by the institute including launch of new programmes like Professional Program in Family Managed Business, PGP in Retail Management jointly presented by Welingkar and Pantaloon Retail India Pvt. Ltd., M.Sc. in Bioinformatics in collaboration with Nottingham Trent University, UK and Diploma in Commodity Trading in association with MCX. Apart from that, many students completed their global internships in the USA, Japan, Germany, Romania, Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania & Dubai thus carrying forward the vision of global exposure.

Some of the alumni who graced us with their presence last year were, Shirish Joshi, (VP - Channels, India & SAARC, Cisco Systems - India), Karthik Modi, (GM - Marketing & Sales, Godrej & Boyce), Sumesh Parasrampuria, (Head - Commercial & Risk Management, Britannica Industries), Nandini Solanki, (Asst. VP - Western India, HSBC), Jiggy George, (Director, Cartoon Network), among others.
