November 24-27, 2005

Confluence is here again

The 8th Annual Business School Meet organized by IIM Ahmedabad begins this week with a dazzling array of guest speakers and events. Confluence 2005 brings together students from business schools around the world and industry leaders and gives them an opportunity to interact with each other between 24th - 27th November 2005.

Confluence is integral to IIMA's vision of shaping management practices by creating new frontiers of knowledge and developing leader-managers committed to excellence. The spirit of this student meet is captured in the concept line "Confluence - Where ideas converge".

The interactions during Confluence 2005 between industry representatives, academicians and management students as well as the competitive events (restricted to management students) will be centered on the following session themes: -

  • Growth - the eternal paradox

  • Innovations on the horizon

  • Management beyond the obvious

  • Marketing - today and tomorrow

Can you devise the Masterplan?

This years Confluence is bigger than ever before with the prize money for competitive events totaling Rs. 16,00,000. The competitive events for Confluence have been kicked off with MasterPlan, LiveStock and Mousetrap. Master Plan is the largest business plan contest organized in India with total prize amounting to US$ 11,000. The participants are required to present business plans involving investment up to US$ 5 bn. MasterPlan saw 345 submissions from 42 domestic and 17 international business schools including Harvard and Cornell. The entries at the first stage have been screened by partners and senior executives from Ernst & Young. The top 24 teams will prepare detailed plans that are reviewed by an eminent panel. The semifinalists will present their ideas to this panel during Confluence. Out of these teams, the top three finalists will then have the opportunity to present their ideas in IIMA to Mukesh Ambani who will decide the final winners.
