Business Today - Aditya Birla Group Present ACUMEN 2005
BT ACUMEN 2005 Concludes With Final Round On Dec. 10

New Delhi, December 11, 2005: The battle of the sharpest minds from the finest business schools in the country for this year came to an end with the grand national finals held yesterday in New Delhi at Hotel Uppal's Orchid. On campus after campus, Acumen has already acquired the status of a national brand - its famous double-end sharpened pencil logo, its unique event attributes, its buzz-generating capacity, and even its own set of devotees.

Acumen - the Annual Quiz-cum-Debate Competition and India's only National B-school Challenge is held under the banner of Business Today and Aditya Birla Group, in association with TCS.

Swaminathan G, Tejaswi Udupa K from IIM Bangalore won the National Quiz Finals and Mayank Mishra, Varun Malhotra from Insititute of Management & Technology, Ghazibad won the hearts of all-present through their talents by winning the National Debate Finals.

Prashad Shetty from Kousali Institute of Management & A P Alagarsamy from Osmania University took home the honours of the National Alumni Quiz Winning Team.

Business Today - Aditya Birla Group Acumen 2005 saw participation from over 150 premier business schools in the country, and a large number from B-school Alumni working in the corporate sector participated as well.

The teams that made it to the National Finals at the Business Today - Aditya Birla Group Acumen 2005 for the B-school Debate were SCM HRD Pune, IIM Calcutta, IIM Kozhikode and IMT Ghaziabad and the teams for the National B-school Quiz were IIM Calcutta, IIM Bangalore, IIM Ahmedabad and IIFT Delhi.

Keeping the audience riveted to their seats and adding immense excitement for the participants across all the four Regional Rounds and Finals was the Acumen 2005 host and renowned cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle. Harsha kept the house equally engrossed with his set questions for the audience; the prizes were quite alluring, no doubt, ranging from a grand audience bumper prize of Yamaha Fazer to Van Heusen and Liberty gift vouchers and T-shirts to Electronic Shavers, Cameras, BT bags.

An excited, Harsha Bhogle, said, "It is a challenging task to be quizzing the best talent in the country and I enjoyed every bit of Acumen 2005."
