Intaglio 2005-06 Going Great Guns at IIM Calcutta Intaglio 2005-06, the Annual Business Festival of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, is proving to be a huge success even before the festival is officially inaugurated on December 22nd. This year, Intaglio is proud to have The Times Group as its Title Partner, a leader in the publishing business and emerging leader in internet, music, retailing and multimedia. The competition in the Intaglio online business cases studies and simulations is hotting up as teams from business schools across the world vie for top honours. The live case competition, State of Affairs, part of the Optimum expo, sponsored by ITC, tests competitors' aptitude in areas related to operations that best fits and supports a firm's economic environment and competitive strategy. The final round of State of Affairs will be held on campus during the festival. The Sound of Music competition, part of the Selling Point expo, challenges participants to come up with a solution to a real life problem faced by brand managers of Philips. The showcase event War of the Worlds, sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline, tests one's risk taking abilities, analytical reasoning, and instantaneous decision making as teams representing individual countries compete against each other in a simulation of the world economy. Intaglio 2005-06 will include innovative and challenging on-campus events designed to simulate the grey matter of the participating teams. A major part of the festival is the showcase events that bring together business students and corporate leaders in an interactive environment. The Reverberations showcase lecture series, sponsored by Cognizant Technology Solutions brings together some of the finest minds from industry, academia and government. This year Intaglio will host such eminent personalities as the CEO of Rave Wireless, Mr. Rodger Desai, the President of NASSCOM and the Forbes Face of the Year 2003, Mr. Kiran Karnik, and the youngest member of the Lok Sabha, Mr. Sachin Pilot.
